Cascadian Edible Landscapes runs Seattle's first community supported plant starts program, offers sliding-scale rates for vegetable garden installation, and sells herbs, veggie starts, fruit trees, and edible natives. Also available are gift certificates for giving fruit trees, which include tree delivery and installation in January or February (the best time for tree planting), compost, micronutrients, and a care guide.
Mariposa Naturescapes is a local, independent retailer of edibles and plants native to Western Washington. They also provide landscape consulting, design and installation, as well as maintenance and compost tea application services.- Seattle Urban Farm Co Offers veggie garden consultation, design, installation, weekly maintenance and harvesting services.
- King Conservation District will have a native plant sale in March, 2010. Orders will be taken until January 31st, 2010. Quantities are limited so order early.
- Seattle Tilth will host edible plant sales in March and May of 2010. Keep an eye out for details by checking the website for event announcements.
- Burnt Ridge Nursery and Orchards is a small, local, family-owned farm which grows fruit and nut trees which do well in western Washington as well as northwest native trees and shrubs.
- Raintree Nursery is a Washington grower of fruit and nut plants. Check full plant descriptions for ease of growing west of the Cascades because some varieties they offer work best in eastern Washington.
- Territorial Seed specializes in edible plant varieties which do well in the Pacific Northwest. They offer organic and non-organic seeds and starts, and some heirloom. 541.942.9547
